Imagine my surprise when I saw this on my facebook feed. There's a boycott of Electronic Arts in the works over including a gay romance option in one of their video games and of course the counter boycott.
I'm sorry. WHAT? Why is there romance in my video game? I'm thinking to the hundreds of articles I read for my dissertation on gaming. I don't recall romance ever being mentioned. Blowing stuff up, beating challenges, having fun with friends. I recall all that. I don't recall kissing and romance.
Why would you play a video game with romance in it? I mean most video game players are male. Unless it is a step to video game porn.
I'm going to boycott! Boycott all video games with kissing and romance!
