On Monday, I found out my contract will be terminated 4 months early. Needless to say, I am off cycle with the academic job market and I'm extremely worried. I feel useless and a failure.
Today, I'm seeing an orthopedist about my knee. I fell over a year ago and did something to it. I didn't have health insurance at the time, so I never got it really treated. The irony escapes me that again, I'm going to lose health insurance and my knee will most likely be untreated.
Needless to say, I've reached the point where I'm so stressed I can't eat. Which is good. Because food is expensive and I need to save my money.
Even more distressing is that I won't be going to Oregon.
